The Challenges Faced by Isadore Goldman

Isadore Goldman is a highly successful law firm with a reputation for excellence. But in 2020, their senior leadership team recognised that sustaining that success would require more than legal expertise - it would require a unified, confident, and self-aware leadership culture.

They were ready to invest in their development, but faced several key challenges:

  • A need for greater consistency in leadership style across senior directors

  • Limited shared language for discussing leadership and performance

  • A desire to nurture leadership from within - not just at the top, but throughout the firm

The ambition? To embed a long-term culture of leadership excellence - and to start from the inside out.

How Ali Stewart & Co Responded

We began a multi-year partnership with Isadore Goldman and Isadores’ senior directors, using our signature blend of Insights Discovery®, Liberating Leadership (now The Liberator), and tailored coaching to spark lasting transformation.

In 2020, the senior director team completed:

  • Insights Discovery® profiles and team sessions to deepen self-awareness and communication

  • The Liberating Leadership 360° diagnostic, including 1:1 coaching and a team workshop

  • The full Liberating Leadership programme delivered over five online sessions

  • Appraisal training to embed leadership into day-to-day performance conversations

In 2021, the focus expanded. Two aspiring associates - including future director Sian Leonard - were invited to begin their leadership journeys. Through Insights Discovery®, 1:1 coaching, and the Pioneering Professional programme (now The Pioneer), they built core personal leadership skills, confidence, and clarity.

By 2024, attention turned to the next generation: five new directors - including Sian - completed Insights Discovery® and the original Liberating Leadership programme over five powerful face-to-face sessions.

The Results

Today, Isadore Goldman is home to a stronger, more aligned leadership culture.

Senior directors now lead with a shared mindset and vocabulary

Young leaders are stepping into their roles with confidence and clarity
